Sheung Wan is a fringe Central district though many have already claimed it 'Central' after the development of several large office towers like the Center and Man Yee Buiilding. It is a pure commercial zone linked with all modes of transportation. The buildings along the waterfront are linked by the elevated pedestrian walkway system from core Central. The Macau Ferry Terminal in Sheung Wan is only within 10-15 minutes walk from core Central. Recently, development here was on a building-by-building basis, so it is not unusual to find modern buildings poking up between older tenement buildings.
